VLCD#16 & 17

I have lost the weight I gained from my cheat, and made a little bit of progress. I am currently at 203.6 lbs. I only lost .2 lbs since yesterday, but I didn't get close to my 500 calories (I was about 160 calories short) and I only drank 1/3 of my water goal for the day. I am going to try to go over my water goal today, and try harder to get as close to 500 calories as I can. I am not really looking forward to eating such a huge amount of vegetables and wish I could just have a couple servings of cream instead.

Besides not losing weight very fast (this week), I think I am doing pretty well. The family and I went shopping last night and I bought a few new shirts. I got size large shirts and they fit pretty good with a bit of snugness (which is what I wanted since I don't want my shirts to be really baggy in 2-3 weeks). I like the shirts enough that I will probably buy more shirts from Target again once I lose some more weight. It was nice to get some new things that fit and are not men's clothes.

In just a couple days this week will be over. I would normally be half way done once this week is over, but I think I may go a few days longer. I really want to be at 180 lbs once I am done with this. After I am done with the VLCD days I will be in maintenance for 6 weeks, so I need to be at 180 lbs before I end phase 2. I won't extend phase 2 for very long though (if I even need to). I am hoping that next week will be better than this week and I'll be able to make up lost time.

That's all for now. Hopefully I have a good loss tomorrow morning.

VLCD#14 & 15

I didn't do an update yesterday, so this is for yesterday and today. The 9th was a really hard day for me. This had absolutely nothing to do with the diet at all, just my regular life. It was a horrible day that I don't care to go into details over. I took a risk and allowed myself to cheat that night. I knew it would set me back some, but I needed something to help calm and console me. I want to get away from using food as a comforting tool, but it was an emergency situation and not something that happens very often.

My cheat on the night of the 9th was a couple pieces of cheesecake (store bought). The next morning the scale said I packed on 1 pound because of the cheat. This morning I lost .6 of that pound, and I hope to lose the rest of it plus more tomorrow morning. I knew cheating would set me back a little bit, but it was a calculated thing and I knew it would cost me a couple days of weight loss. To pick up some of the gap, I am going to cut out my toast for a few days and only have one fruit serving instead of two. I was considering cutting the bread and fruit back some anyway because of slowing losses, so hopefully it helps some.

Well, that is that. I guess there isn't really a whole lot else to say about it. I am hoping for a loss tomorrow again and to be caught up plus maybe a little extra. I would be very happy to see 204.4 lbs tomorrow morning.

VLCD#12 and Week#2 totals.

Week#2 is done and I am officially 1/3rd of the way done with the low calorie days. The past few days have been pretty good in that I have felt good. I did not show a loss on the scale today, so that was kind of disappointing. I do feel that my losses for the second week were pretty good. Here are my stats.

Day #7                                                                      Day #14
     Weight...................210.4 lbs                                      Weight...................205.0 lbs
     Waist.......................38.0 inches                                 Waist.......................37.5 inches
     Hips........................44.5 inches                                  Hips........................43.0 inches
     Body fat %.............29.0 %                                         Body fat %.............29.0 %

So for weight I lost nearly 5 1/2 lbs, which is more than I lost the first week (counting start weight, not highest load weight). I lost half an inch off my waist, 1 1/2 inches off my hips and my body fat % stayed the same. I am happy with my progress so far, though I am not convinced that I am losing more than I would have on a strict low carb diet. I have lost 10 lbs in 2 weeks, but I remember losing 11 lbs in 2 weeks on Atkins Induction.

Regardless of if I would have lost as much weight on a different diet or not, I do believe I needed something drastic in order to break the cycle of bad eating. This diet being so very strict has really helped me stick to it so far. I am not as tempted to stray when something is off limits as I am when it is just in a grey area. I still think about cheesecake and cheeseburgers sometimes, but I know that I can't have it, so it isn't really an issue.

That's all for today, hopefully a loss tomorrow, and another 5 lbs loss to report at the end of week#3!

VLCD#11

Just a quick post to say that I lost another pound. I am now at 205 pounds. Another pound lost in the morning would be nice.

VLCD#10

I did have a loss today, but it wasn't the deep loss I was hoping for. I lost a pound, which is still pretty good. I am currently at 206 lbs, which is 9 lbs less than my start weight (14 lbs lost since my highest load weight). I am really hoping to see a loss on the scale again tomorrow (honestly it would be kinda crushing to see a gain again). If I keep up my current rate of losing weight (approximately .9 lbs per day) I will reach my goal of 34 lbs lost during this 40 day round. I would be pretty darn happy with weighing 180 lbs exactly one month from today (April 6th is my 40th/last day!).

I went ahead and wore my slightly too tight size 12 jeans today. I probably should wait until I have lost a few more pounds before wearing size 12 jeans, but I couldn't help myself today. It felt really good to have some tangible progress besides some number on a scale. It is so hard to imagine going shopping for clothes when I am at my short term goal weight of 180 lbs. I don't shop for clothes now, and haven't in a very long time. My reward for getting through this diet is to go shopping for clothes. I have decided that I want to get a casual dress for summer, a pair of shorts, a pair of jeans, and some tops that are meant for women (no more men's tees!! Not even to sleep in!). I am pretty nervous about trying on clothes, but excited at the same time.

It seems like I've been doing this diet for a really short time, but in two days  I will be 1/3rd done (well with phase 2, I don't really count phase 3 as a diet because that is basically how I was eating before I got off into cheesecake land and packed on over 10 lbs). I knew in my head that this was a short term thing, but it didn't really hit me until I looked at my calendar weight tracker today. I am honestly shocked that I am already nearly two weeks into this, as it doesn't feel like I've been doing this that long. I am not even getting as sick of chicken as I was anticipating. I am having beef tomorrow though, and it does sound really good.

It's been long enough since my last glass of water that I can take my last dose of hHCG for the day. I would love to just go crawl into bed and go to sleep, but I need to wait awhile. The pellets take about 5 minutes to dissolve, then I have to wait at least another 15 minutes before I can brush my teeth. I guess I will write in my journal for awhile or knit on some socks for that time.

I have no idea what to expect on the scale tomorrow morning, but I am really hoping to see 1.5 lb loss. I'm not sure why, but that is how much I really want to lose (or more of course). Just please not a gain or stall! Any loss would be great, but a 1.5 lb loss would make me euphoric!

VLCD#9

Today is the halfway point of week #2, and I had my first gain today. I was up .2 lbs so I weighed exactly 207 lbs today. I'll admit, I was pretty disappointed when I saw I had gained some. Seeing those big drops feels great and after that a gain is a bit of a slap in the face kind of feeling. I know it is no big deal though and that little gains are normal and get lost again.

Yesterday was a really hard day. I was extremely tired, super moody and depressed, had a bad headache all day and just over all felt like doody that has been run over a hundred times. I am pretty sure that I was just getting used to the new pellets, as today I feel great and have had no hunger and more energy than usual. Before the hunger was noticeable but manageable, now it doesn't even exist. I am so much happier with the pellets than those other drops. I do wish I hadn't had such a hard transition, but I'd say it was worth it for how I have felt today.

I do feel that I look better than I did before starting the diet. I tried on size 12 jeans today and a really old pair of shorts size 13 (odd sizes are juniors, and I've had those shorts for nearly 10 years). I was able to get both the jeans and the shorts on, though I am not so sure I would say that they "fit." I have been wearing the shorts today even though they are pretty tight and it isn't exactly shorts weather, lol I just wanted to wear something I hadn't worn in a very long time and to wear something that showed off my Nine West wedges. I am really looking forward to this summer and being thin enough to wear shorts and skirts again :)

According to Dr. Simeons original Protocol, you are to use nothing on your skin that has oils in it, so I have stopped using the Bio Oil. I had stopped using the derma roller as well, but decided to start using it again with no oils or lotions. I am only going to use it on my legs for now though. I figured my belly and breasts are just going to get trashed again if I am able to have another baby once the weight is gone, so I may as well not worry about those right now. I do want to have nice legs for summer though, so that is why I am using the derma roller on them. I hope to save up money over the next few months in order to buy a Tria hair removal laser. My legs would look a lot better without that stark black hair under my pale skin. I am not sure how long it will take me to save up for it, but I plan to work on it and eventually be able to get one.

So even though today was a gain day, I am in pretty good spirits. I am hopeful about seeing a loss on the scale in the morning and my size 12 jeans fitting comfortably in another week :) I have started thinking about what kind of clothes I am going to buy when I reach my 180 lbs goal for the end of this diet.

I had spinach soup today with my chicken. I pureed (I really love that Ninja, great little blender) some cooked spinach in some water with some salt, pepper, and a tiny bit of Stevia. Wow, were my kids sure grossed out, lol It was pretty tasty, even though it looked like pond scum, lol I am so looking forward to getting into phase 3 and being able to eat fat again. I think the first thing I am going to do is make some crust-less cheesecake, yum! Ha, I need to stop thinking about food I can't have right now.

Off to do some knitting then to bed :) PLEASE let tomorrow be a big loss day! Ha ha, I can always hope :)

VLCD#8

Today's weight loss was .4 lbs. Nothing else to say right now, but that I am tired and am headed to bed. Hope for a loss again tomorrow.
